Job summary

Hermès in Rome is seeking a Cashier to safeguard all point-of-sale and accounting activities while delivering an unforgettable boutique experience.

You will open/close tills, assist clients through the final steps of purchase, manage cash and banking procedures, and support back-office tasks. Fluency in Italian and English is required, with a third language an advantage; a bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.

Job description

The Cashier is responsible for ensuring and supporting all cashiering and accounting activities based on the specific needs and providing the most memorable customer journey during the final boutique experience.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Open and close the cash register and control the effective payments;

Attend clients during their final steps of purchase and check cash transactions associated to the different payments and clients;

Support customers providing all type of information, including aftersales product care suggestions;

Perform all in-store sales transactions (records sales and payments). Set up the till and cash up, manage banking authorizations, and assist foreign customers with tax refund procedures;

Contribute to all or part of the store’s daily back-office operations to support selling teams;

• Help to implement and apply procedures. Ensure that data is entered into the system and that IT tools are updated;

Collect and update client data, in accordance with privacy policy and company procedures;

Be a storyteller, suggesting and surprising, delivering quality and consistency of service to develop client relationships and sales services, taking part in morning briefing activities;

Play an active role in customers’ events and animations whenever needed;

Willing to work temporarily. Fixed-term contract with expected full-time working hours.

PROFILE

Bachelor’s degree preferably in accounting or and equivalent academic background;

Fluency in Italian and English. A third language will be considered an advantage;

Professional background: previous experience in similar positions, preferably in a luxury goods boutique;

Proficient with Excel / Power Point / IT tools;

Professionalism, enthusiasm, dynamism, ease of integration and teamwork complete the profile.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Contract Type: Temporary
• Working Hours: Full-time
• Indicative Starting Gross Annual Salary: €28,000, determined according to objective and gender-neutral criteria.
• Variable Pay: Eligibility for an annual incentive plan in line with Company policies.
• Benefits: €10 meal voucher per working day, in addition to statutory and collective bargaining benefits. Employees may also be eligible for supplementary benefits and wellbeing programs in accordance with Company policies.
