Job summary

Jewish Care is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to support our residential and service-user catering. You will help maintain clean, safe kitchens and assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals under the Head Chef. A focus on Kashrut practices, hygiene, and flexible teamwork is essential.

Experience in care settings is beneficial, and you will participate in mandatory training and supervision to uphold high standards across our hospitality services.

Qualifications

• Reliable, positive and flexible with commitment to excellent kitchen and hospitality service.
• Experience in kitchen environment and high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety.
• Willingness to undertake COSHH and workplace health and safety training.
• Willingness to learn about Kashrut practices and care sector requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support Kitchen and Hospitality teams to deliver high-quality service for residents and service users.
• Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and storage areas.
• Assist with preparation and service of nutritious food and beverages.
• Prepare special diet meals as required and per Head Chef instructions.
• Follow Dementia Dining Experience requirements.
• Receive, check and store deliveries according to policy.
• Support stock control and minimize food waste.
• Follow hygiene, health and safety and COSHH procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and respond to feedback or complaints.
