Latham & Watkins in Milan is seeking a Business Development Senior Specialist to support Italy’s market priorities and drive strategic marketing and business development initiatives. The role sits in the Milan office with a hybrid schedule and in-office presence as needed.

You will collaborate with market leaders, contribute to client development, research industry trends, and help craft pitches, biographies, and event programs with internal teams across Europe.

Competenze

• Experience in business development within professional services (legal/consulting).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

• Develop and execute strategic BD and marketing plans, acting as a “dot connector” internally
• Provide research, analysis, and reporting to support client development

About The Role

The Business Development (BD) Senior Specialist is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development team. This role will be responsible for working in close collaboration with key market leaders and colleagues across the BD department to support the firm’s business priorities in Italy to achieve its strategic marketing and business development goals, while developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of industry, practice, market expertise, client mix, matter experience, trade groups, and media. This role will be located in our Milan office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

• Employing knowledge to develop and execute strategic business development and marketing plans, acting as a “dot connector” internally
• Providing research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
• Supporting the implementation of the marketing strategy for the market, with a focus on measurable impact
• Achieving fluency in our client base and supporting efforts to identify, pursue, and attain new business from new and existing clients
• Collaborating and supporting on the development of local pitches, proposals, biographies, and directories
• Working closely with BD colleagues in the firm’s client programs and events team in Europe, while also liaising with PR and social media colleagues, to support client events and identify and leverage industry sponsorships
• Partnering with appropriate Brand & Communications colleagues to ensure coverage and publicity for successful matters, initiatives and products, while working collaboratively across teams on strategic projects

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Display excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm (partners, attorneys, business services)
• Demonstrate initiative to work both independently and in a team environment with a customer service focus
• Possess the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and adapt to continuously evolving technology platforms

And have:

• Experience in a business development environment within the professional services sector, including legal and consulting firms
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent

The pay range for this role is €55,000 – €65,000. Placement within the range will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies, in accordance with objective and non-discriminatory criteria. The employment relationship will be governed by the National Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Tertiary, Distribution and Services sector (CCNL Commercio). #Associate
