allnex in Romano d’Ezzelino invites an experienced Automation & DCS Engineer to support a strategic project implementing a new DCS at our chemical site. You will ensure continuity across configuration, testing, start-up and stabilization phases through go-live.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial automation, a technical diploma or engineering degree, and hands-on DCS experience. Siemens PCS7/ABB 800xA exposure is a plus.

We are looking for an experienced Automation & DCS Engineer to support a strategic project involving the implementation of a new Distributed Control System (DCS) at our chemical manufacturing site.

The successful candidate will ensure operational continuity throughout the configuration, testing, commissioning, start-up and stabilization phases of the new system following the planned go-live in the coming months.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and configuration of the new DCS platform.
• Participate in testing activities, including FAT, SAT, commissioning and plant start-up.
• Modify and optimize process control logic.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for automation-related issues.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and external suppliers.
• Integrate field instrumentation, control loops and process equipment into the DCS environment.
• Ensure accurate technical documentation of implemented changes.
• Perform all activities in compliance with company safety procedures and applicable regulations.

Required skills and experience

• Technical diploma in Electronics, Automation or Information Technology, or a degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or Automation Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation.
• Proven hands‑on experience in programming, configuration and management of DCS systems.
• Experience gained in chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food processing or other continuous process industries.
• Previous involvement in DCS migration, upgrade or implementation projects.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Siemens PCS7 and/or ABB 800xA.
• Experience with otherDistributed Control Systems (DCS), such as Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, Yokogawa Centum, Foxboro, or similar process industry platforms, is an advantage.
• Knowledge ofPLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell, or Schneider).
• Familiarity withSCADA/HMI systems.
• Understanding of industrial communication protocols, includingProfinet, Profibus, Modbus, and OPC.
• Basic knowledge ofSQL and industrial data collection systems (Historian).
