Leica Biosystems, a Danaher operating company, is seeking an Application Consultant for Digital Pathology in Italy with a fully remote arrangement. You will partner with Sales Specialists, Account Managers, and key customer stakeholders to drive adoption of Leica Biosystems' Digital and Computational Pathology solutions through IT solution architecture and consultative expertise.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, informatics, imaging, or healthcare-related discipline.
• Experience in healthcare IT environments and systems integration with digital pathology, medical imaging, diagnostics, healthcare IT, or LIS interoperability (DICOM/HL7).
• Experience in solution selling, technical consulting, or solution architecture.

The Application Consultant, Digital Pathology serves as the technical, expert enabling the Digital Pathology commercial team throughout the customer lifecycle. Partnering closely with Sales Specialists, Account Managers, and key customer stakeholders, this role drives the successful adoption of Leica Biosystems' Digital and Computational Pathology solutions through IT solution architecture, consultative application expertise, and solution selling.

Act as a trusted advisor to pathology, laboratory, clinical, and IT stakeholders, you will design, present, and lead discussions relating to the customers IT ecosystem, provide solutions that address customer clinical, operational, and enterprise IT requirements. These solutions span digital pathology scanners, image management systems, Artificial Intelligence-enabled diagnostic applications.

Combining technical and commercial expertise, the role develops and communicates compelling value propositions that demonstrate how Leica Biosystems' evolving digital pathology ecosystem supports diagnostic excellence, operational efficiency, digital transformation, and improved patient outcomes. The role provides both pre‑ and post‑sales subject matter expertise by deploying standard work tools to identify and advance opportunities, presenting and demonstrating hardware, software, workflow solutions, and clinical applications early in the sales process. Through effective customer engagement at critical stages of the sales cycle, the role builds stakeholder confidence and follow‑through, articulates the value proposition, and supports customer acceptance and successful adoption of Leica Biosystems solutions.

This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager and is part of the Digital Pathology team located in Italy and will be fully remote.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Partner with Sales Specialists to achieve growth objectives and advance customer opportunities.
• Lead customer discovery sessions, workflow assessments and solution design workshops. Demonstrate innovative Digital Pathology, image analysis and AI-enabled diagnostic solutions to healthcare organisations.
• Influence key stakeholders across pathology, laboratory operations, informatics and healthcare IT functions.
• Support customers in their transition to digital and computational pathology workflows, contributing directly to the adoption of technologies that help improve cancer diagnostics and patient care.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, informatics, imaging, or healthcare-related discipline.
• Experience in healthcare IT environments and systems integration. Supporting and understanding digital pathology, medical imaging, diagnostics, healthcare IT, or laboratory technology solutions, including interoperability with LIS using standards such as DICOM and HL7. Salesforce or equivalent CRM platform.
• Experience in solution selling, technical consulting, applications support, or solution architecture.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%, including overnight travel, primarily within the assigned territory and occasionally outside the territory to attend meetings, trainings, or congresses.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Integration or support of digital pathology scanners and image management systems (IMS) in clinical or research laboratories or a field-based role within digital pathology, medical imaging, or in vitro diagnostics environments.
• Delivering technical presentations, customer training sessions, or product demonstrations to medium‑to‑large audiences (e.g. conferences, workshops, or user meetings)
• Medical image analysis algorithms, computational pathology or Artificial Intelligence solutions applied to clinical diagnostics.

This role is classified under the applicable CCNL as Commercio, which defines minimum terms, job classification, and baseline progression frameworks. The expected gross annual salary range for this role is 54.000€ - 63.000€, determined based on objective criteria such as experience, skills, and role-related competencies.

Bonus / Incentive Pay

20% of annual base salary

This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay. This is the target earnings as 20% of base annual salary, subject to objective eligibility criteria and performance conditions as set out in the applicable scheme terms and conditions.
