Job summary

Qonto in Milan is hiring an AML Analyst to protect our 600,000 customers from financial crime as we relaunch Italy. You will run first-level AML detection: processing alerts, analyzing transactions, and helping maintain a 95% compliance rate.

You will report to Alessandro, Head of AML Global, and collaborate with Onboarding, Customer Service and Banking Operations to escalate findings and support investigations. Fluency in Italian and English and a proactive mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience reviewing and investigating client transaction patterns and detecting suspicious activity.
• Detail-oriented, evidence-driven with the ability to follow investigations through to a documented conclusion.
• Ability to juggle multiple urgent alerts and flag risks early without lowering analysis quality.
• Strong written and spoken Italian and English.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transactions and supporting documents to detect money laundering patterns with a 95% compliance target.
• Reach out to customers and counterparts to gather needed information and validate SEPA transfers.
• Collaborate with local authorities when receiving legal requests or seizures.
• Step in to support Onboarding, Customer Service, or Banking Operations when there are suspicions about a customer.
• Escalate findings to the Anti-Financial Crime team for case declarations to authorities.
