Pillar Srl in Milan/Barcelona is hiring an AI Engineer to transform LLM capabilities into reliable product experiences. You will own AI features end to end, design agentic workflows, and build RAG and semantic search systems that turn documents into structured data.

The role requires hands-on experience with TypeScript, SQL, and AI orchestration tools; startup/scaleup exposure is valued. You will work in an AI-native team and ship real customer features.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in building real AI products, not just prototypes.
• Experience with agents, tool use, structured outputs and orchestration.
• Hands-on with RAG, embeddings, vector databases and retrieval strategies.
• Comfort with TypeScript and productive cross-functional work.
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as Mastra, LangChain, CrewAI.

Responsabilités

• Own AI features end to end from problem to production.
• Design agentic workflows using tool orchestration and multi-step reasoning.
• Build RAG and semantic search pipelines with embeddings and vector search.
• Develop document extraction workflows to structure data from invoices and forms.
• Build observability, tracing, experiments and quality checks for AI features.
• Optimize context, retrieval and prompting strategies for accuracy.
• Work across TS stack for AI feature integration.
• Move quickly from ambiguity to working product with pragmatic decisions.
