Job summary

You will diagnose complex commercial vehicle faults, manage service appointments, and lead a team of technicians and service advisors.

The role requires a Diploma or BE in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering and substantial hands-on experience in BS6 CV service.

WORKHOP MANAGER

Role & responsibilities

Manage workshop profitability (ROI) Handle service appointments, diagnose complex commercial vehicle faults, and ensure quality control in repairs.

• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of BS6 emission norms, common rail diesel engines, ECU diagnostics, and exhaust after-treatment systems (DPF/SCR).
• Performance Metrics (KPIs): Achieve set turnover targets, improve vehicle throughput (TAT), reduce repeat repairs, and manage inventory of spare parts.
• Team Management: Train, lead, and monitor the productivity of service advisors, technicians, and floor supervisors.
• Experience & Education: Requires Diploma/BE in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering with 410+ years of experience in commercial vehicle service.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven experience in a BS6 commercial vehicle dealership or authorized workshop.
• Strong communication skills to manage customer complaints and build relationships.
• Expertise in fleet software for service scheduling and MIS reporting.
• Ensure vehicle repairs and servicing meet quality standards. Good understanding of vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs. Lead, train, and supervise technicians and workshop staff.
