Job summary

Agilysis, Pune-based Workday consulting partner, seeks a senior Workday Extend developer to drive design, development, testing, and deployment of Extend applications across client engagements.

You will serve as a technical advisor, define scalable Extend solutions, and collaborate with functional consultants to ensure successful delivery. Prior consulting exposure and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of technical development experience with at least 3+ years in Workday Extend.
• Hands-on experience building applications with Workday Extend.
• Strong knowledge of Workday Web Services, REST APIs and Orchestration.
• Experience with Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Recruiting or Financials.
• Familiarity with business process framework, calculated fields, custom reports, and security configurations.
• Experience integrating Workday with third-party platforms and enterprise apps.
• Previous consulting exposure across multiple clients/projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Workday Extend Certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to translate business requirements into Workday Extend solutions.
• Lead planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and support of Extend apps.

• Stay updated with Workday Extend innovations and industry trends.
• Contribute to proposals, demonstrations, and pre-sales with technical input.
• Foster client relationships through effective communication and teamwork.
• Mentor team members and share Extend knowledge to build capability.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Partner closely with clients to understand business requirements, challenges, and opportunities, translating them into innovative solutions using Workday Extend.
• Lead the planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and support of Workday Extend applications across multiple client engagements.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for Workday Extend, providing technical leadership and best-practice guidance to clients and internal teams.
• Design and develop scalable, user-friendly applications that enhance and extend Workday functionality to meet client-specific business needs.
• Support and maintain existing Workday Extend applications by troubleshooting issues, implementing enhancements, and delivering new functionality.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, architects, and business stakeholders to define solution approaches and ensure successful project delivery.
• Drive solution design discussions and provide recommendations aligned with Workday platform capabilities, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Perform technical analysis, solution estimation, and development planning to support project execution and client success.
• Participate in testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and technical improvements that deliver measurable business value.
• Stay current with Workday product innovations, Extend platform enhancements, and industry trends to continuously improve solution offerings.
• Contribute to proposal development, solution demonstrations, and pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise and effort estimates.
• Foster strong client relationships through effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management.
• Work collaboratively across consulting, functional, and technical teams to deliver successful outcomes and take ownership of project results.
• Mentor team members and share Workday Extend knowledge to help build organizational capability and technical excellence.
