Job summary

Cherry Bekaert is hiring a Workday Integration & Extend Developer to design and implement integrations, custom Extend apps, and reports across HR, Payroll, and Finance. You will partner with HRIS, IT, and Finance to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Responsibilities include building and testing integrations (Studio, EIB, Core Connectors), managing web services, and ensuring data security and governance across bi-annual Workday releases.

Job description

The Workday Integration & Extend Developer is responsible for developing and supporting Workday integrations, custom applications, reports, and automated processes that enable HR, Payroll, Finance, and enterprise operations. Working closely with business and technology teams, this role delivers technical solutions that optimize system functionality, ensure data integrity, and support the ongoing evolution of the Workday platform.

• Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Workday integrations (using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Web Services, REST, SOAP).
• Develop or adapt Workday Orchestrations / Business Processes / Workday Alerts as needed.
• Build custom applications and extend Workday's native functionality using Workday Extend
• Develop, test, and deploy custom reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite) and Reports-as-a-Service (RaaS) endpoints for internal and external consumption.
• Configure and manage calculated fields, custom objects, and business process configurations.
• Design and support web services integrations (SOAP/REST, WSDL) between Workday and third-party/downstream systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration errors, performance issues, and data discrepancies
• Partner with HRIS, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Support Workday releases (bi-annual updates) by testing impacted integrations, reports, and Extend applications.
• Maintain technical documentation for integrations, reports, and custom builds.
• Ensure data security, compliance, and adherence to Workday governance/best practices.

Participate in unit testing, UAT support, Tenant migration, refresh handling and production deployment/cutover activities.

• Understanding of Workday Report Writer and RaaS (custom, matrix, composite reports; XML/JSON output for consumption by external systems)
• Strong knowledge of Workday web services (SOAP/REST APIs and WSDLs) with the ability to develop, support, and troubleshoot integrations between Workday and external systems.
• Ability to use API testing and diagnostic tools, such as Postman and Workday API tools, to validate functionality, identify issues, and ensure integration reliability.
• Knowledge of Workday integration and application development best practices; Workday Pro certification in Integrations, Extend, or Studio preferred.

Preferred candidate profile

3 years+ progressive, hands-on experience in Workday development/integration experience. Experience with Workday HCM, Payroll, and/or Financials modules. Prior experience in a large-scale, multi-phase Workday implementation or support environment.
