About the Role

We are looking for a motivated WordPress & Shopify Web Development Intern to join our team and work on live client projects. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong foundation in WordPress and Shopify and wants to gain real-world experience in website development, quality assurance, and website management.

You will work closely with the lead developer to maintain, update, test, and optimize multiple client websites. While the overall website architecture and development will be handled by the senior developer, you will be responsible for implementing content updates, testing websites, identifying issues, and ensuring high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Update website content, images, products, pages, and layouts in WordPress and Shopify.
• Implement changes based on provided design layouts, instructions, and templates.
• Perform Quality Assurance (QA) before websites go live.
• Test websites across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Identify UI/UX issues, broken layouts, responsiveness problems, and functionality bugs.
• Report bugs with proper documentation and follow up until resolved.
• Coordinate with WordPress plugin support and Shopify App support teams whenever required.
• Assist in website maintenance, backups, and routine updates.
• Verify forms, navigation, buttons, product pages, checkout flow, and website functionality.
• Help optimize website performance by following best practices.
• Work with multiple client websites simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

Technical Requirements

WordPress

• Good understanding of the WordPress Dashboard.
• Experience working with Elementor (preferred).
• Knowledge of Pages, Posts, Menus, Widgets, Media Library, and Customizer.
• Familiarity with WooCommerce product management.
• Basic understanding of plugins, themes, plugin updates, and troubleshooting.
• Experience using contact form plugins and managing website content.
• Basic understanding of user roles and permissions.

Shopify

• Basic hands‑on experience with Shopify Admin.
• Knowledge of Products, Collections, Navigation, Pages, Blogs, and Theme Customization.
• Understanding of Shopify Sections and Templates.
• Familiarity with Shopify Apps installation and configuration.
• Basic understanding of Metafields and Metaobjects is a plus.
• Knowledge of product variants and inventory management.

Technical Skills

• Good understanding of HTML5 and CSS3.
• Understanding of responsive web design principles.
• Basic understanding of website speed optimization and image optimization.
• Familiarity with DNS, Hosting, SSL, and domain management is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of SEO fundamentals is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Portfolio or previous internship/project experience in WordPress or Shopify is preferred.
• Ability to understand website structures and follow development guidelines.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently when required.
