Job summary

ITD GrowthLabs is seeking a Web Developer to join our web engineering pod in Mumbai. You’ll own front-end and back-end work on real client projects from kickoff to launch, including e-commerce stores and SaaS marketing sites.

You’ll work with senior engineers, ship production websites, and contribute to optimization, SEO schema, and performance improvements while collaborating across India, USA, UK, UAE, and other markets.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in WordPress theme & plugin development (ACF, WooCommerce).
• Shopify theme customization and app integration.
• Strong experience with React/Next.js and SSR/ISR patterns.
• Node.js+Express or PHP (Laravel, vanilla) with MySQL or Postgres.
• Solid HTML/CSS/JavaScript fundamentals; responsive design.

Responsibilities

• Build custom WordPress themes + plugins for marketing and content-heavy sites.
• Customize and extend Shopify themes; integrate apps and payments.
• Develop React/Next.js front-ends for client SaaS and marketing sites.
• Create back-ends with Node.js/Express or PHP/Laravel; APIs integration (REST/GraphQL).
• Implement schema markup for SEO; perform code reviews and pair programming.

What you’ll do, with whom, and why it matters

You will join the web engineering pod and ship production websites, e-commerce stores, custom web apps and SaaS marketing sites for India + USA + UK + UAE + Australia + Africa clients. You’ll work alongside senior practice leads with 12+ years of in-category experience, and own the front-end and back-end of real client projects from kickoff to launch.

What you will do day-to-day

• Build custom WordPress themes + plugins for marketing sites and content-heavy sites
• Customise and extend Shopify themes, write Liquid templates, integrate Shopify apps + Razorpay / Cashfree payments
• Build React + Next.js front-ends for client SaaS, D2C and marketing sites
• Build Node.js + Express / PHP / Laravel back-ends for custom web apps
• Integrate REST + GraphQL APIs, third-party services (Razorpay, Stripe, Shiprocket, Delhivery, Twilio, SendGrid)
• Optimise Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) for Indian 4G performance
• Implement schema markup (Article, FAQPage, Service, BreadcrumbList) for SEO and AI-search
• Code reviews, pair programming, and mentorship from senior engineers

Skills, experience and mindset

• WordPress — custom theme + plugin development, ACF, WooCommerce
• Shopify — Liquid templating, theme customisation, Shopify Apps
• React + Next.js — components, hooks, SSR / ISR, App Router
• Node.js — Express, REST APIs, async patterns, npm ecosystem
• PHP — Laravel or vanilla PHP, MySQL / Postgres
• HTML / CSS / JavaScript fundamentals, responsive design, Tailwind / Bootstrap
• Git — branching, PRs, code review hygiene
• Nice to have: TypeScript, Headless CMS (Sanity, Contentful, Strapi), Tailwind CSS, Docker
