Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products (DEP) is seeking an experienced engineer for automotive wiring harness design and packaging. The role emphasizes CATIA V5 & 3DX proficiency for electrical harness design, part modelling, and surface design, with strong collaboration across EESE teams to deliver engineered solutions.

Requirements include 4–6 years hands-on experience in automotive wiring harness design, ability to work independently, and knowledge of Vehicle Architecture and related subsystems.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years hands-on experience in automotive wiring harness design and packaging of electrical/electronic components.
• Proficient in CATIA V5 & 3DX for electrical harness design, part modelling & surface design.

Responsibilities

• Good experience in Wiring harness design, wiring optimization studies and drawing creation.
• Prior experience in benchmarking studies & packaging studies on electrical/electronic modules/systems and defining their locations in vehicle.
• Capable to independently design attachment scheme or design brackets (Plastic/Sheetmetal brackets) is an added advantage.
• Collaborate closely with the Electrical & Electronics Systems Engineering (EESE) team to support requests and develop engineered solutions.
• Knowledge in Vehicle Architecture, Vehicle Aggregate Groups, Sub- Groups, Systems and Sub- Systems.
• Strong communication skill is mandatory to handle Program Stake Holders & Suppliers.
• Good Knowledge in Teamcenter Engineering & Vismockup.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.
• Highly committed and motivated. Should be a self-starter.
