Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products (DEP) in Chennai seeks an automotive wiring harness design engineer with 2–4 years of hands-on experience. You will work on CATIA V5/3DX for electrical harness design, part modelling, surfaces and 2D drawings, and collaborate with overseas stakeholders.

Role requires strong communication, knowledge of vehicle architecture, and ability to work independently, with a proactive, self-starting attitude. On-site position in Tamil Nadu, India.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years hands-on experience working in automotive wiring harness design and packaging of electrical/electronic components.
• Extensive working experience in CATIA V5/3DX (Electrical Harness Design, Part Modelling, Surface design & 2D drawings)

Responsibilities

• Good experience of performing benchmarking, packaging studies on electrical/electronic components and defining their locations in vehicle.
• CAD experience in Wiring harness, wiring optimization studies and drawing creation.
• Capable to independently design attachment scheme or design brackets (Plastic/Sheetmetal brackets) is an added advantage.
• Knowledgeable in Vehicle Architecture, Vehicle Aggregate Groups, Sub- Groups, Systems and Sub- Systems.
• Strong communication skill is mandatory to handle overseas Program Stake Holders & Suppliers.
• Good Knowledge in Teamcenter Engineering & Vismockup.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.
• Highly committed and motivated. Should be a self-starter.
