Job summary

A leading automotive OEM is seeking an experienced automotive wiring harness designer to drive product compliance excellence. This role involves creating 2D wire harnesses, understanding design quality issues, and conducting various electrical analyses. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CHS tool and a solid grasp of vehicle electrical architecture. Responsibilities also include ensuring timely delivery of designs and supporting prototype vehicles.

Qualifications

• Experience creating 2D wire harnesses using CHS tool.
• Hands-on knowledge of insulation and connectors.
• Proven understanding of vehicle electrical architecture.
• Harness working experience in HV and LV.
• Should be able to understand and address design quality issues at vehicle and virtual.
• Accountability of schematic & harness design delivery ensuring vehicle functionality & timelines.
• Design and Development of Automotive Wiring harness from concept to production.
• EDS Design calculations- Power distribution, Ground distribution, Resistance calculations.
• Running DRCs, Schematic simulation- Voltage drop and Short circuit fuse blow analysis.
• EDS Schematic Topology design for vehicle platforms, Vehicle electrical architecture & CAN backbone finalisation.
• 3D wiring harness layout creations, routing in UG NX electrical module.
• Clamping, brackets/panel design for the wiring and cables for packaging and routing.
• Support for making prototype vehicles, pre-production & serial production vehicles.
• Preparation of circuit schematics in Capital tool.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive wiring harness from concept to production.
• Ensure delivery of schematic and harness design on time.
• Conduct voltage drop and short circuit analysis during schematic simulation.
• Create 3D wiring harness layouts in UG NX Electrical module.
• Support prototype, pre-production and serial production vehicle builds.
• Prepare circuit schematics using Capital tool.
