Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products (DEP) seeks a highly skilled CAD professional specializing in wiring harness routing and interface resolution using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. You will define optimized harness architectures that meet EMC requirements while minimizing weight and cost.

You will collaborate with the Electrical & Electronics Systems Engineering (EESE) team to develop concepts, lead design reviews, and independently deliver robust solutions through benchmarking and packaging studies

Qualifications

• Proficient in wiring harness routing and interface resolution.
• Experience defining optimized harness architectures for weight and cost.
• Strong EMC compliance knowledge and design optimization mindset.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with EESE to develop concepts and design proposals.
• Independently lead technical design reviews and present solutions.
• Perform benchmarking studies and packaging analyses for vehicle modules.
• Design attachment schemes or brackets for mounting electrical systems.

Job description

• A highly skilled CAD professional with extensive experience in wiring harness routing, specializing in resolving complex interface challenges using the 3DEXPERIENCE platforms.
• Effective problem solving and analytical skills
• Expertise in defining optimized harness architectures and routing strategies that minimize weight and cost while ensuring full adherence to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements.
• Collaborate closely with the Electrical & Electronics Systems Engineering (EESE) team to develop concepts and design proposals.
• Ability to independently handle technical design reviews, articulating harness design challenges to engineers, suppliers, and stakeholders to develop robust solutions.
• Prior experience in performing benchmarking studies & packaging studies on electrical/electronic modules/systems and defining their locations in vehicle.
• Capable to independently design attachment scheme or brackets to mount electrical modules/systems.
• Knowledge in Vehicle Architecture, Vehicle Aggregate Groups, Sub- Groups, Systems and Sub- Systems.
• Proficient in deciding manufacturing feasibility, assembly and service feasibility.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to collaborate with Program Stake Holders & Suppliers.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with team members.
• A proactive self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
