Job summary

Vaisesika is seeking an experienced Windows & Linux Engineer to join our Bengaluru team. The role requires 7+ years of hands-on experience in managing enterprise Windows and Linux environments, with strong server administration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support.

You will work on server installations, patching, performance monitoring, AD/Domain services, virtualization, backup, and automation using PowerShell or Bash, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong administration experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).
• Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
• VMware or Hyper‑V administration.
• PowerShell and Bash/Shell scripting.
• Server patching, monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Backup and recovery tools.
• Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, Load Balancing).
• Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, or SCOM.
• Knowledge of security hardening and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) environments.
• Perform server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows services.
• Configure and maintain Linux services, user management, filesystems, and permissions.
• Support virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Shell scripting.
• Troubleshoot OS, network, storage, and application‑related issues.
• Implement security best practices, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, network, and application teams for production support.
• Prepare technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
