Job summary

The Hartford India is seeking a highly skilled engineer to join the Compute Chapter for Windows Platform Operations. The role emphasizes Windows Server administration, Active Directory integration, patching, vulnerability remediation, and enterprise platform operations at scale.

You will guide junior engineers, drive operational excellence, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Windows infrastructure services to ensure high availability and security.

Qualifications

• Strong Windows Server administration experience in large enterprise environments.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, certificates, and enterprise authentication.
• PowerShell scripting experience; Python preferred.
• Configuration management and automation experience with Ansible, Terraform, SCCM, or equivalent tools.
• Windows patching, vulnerability remediation, server hardening, and technology currency experience.
• Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, load balancing, and firewalls.
• Logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems across private and public cloud environments.
• Manage lifecycle activities including provisioning, patching, upgrades, currency, and decommissioning.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to serve in our Compute Chapter supporting Windows Platform Operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in Windows Server administration, Active Directory integration, patching, vulnerability remediation, and enterprise platform operations across a large scale environment. The ideal candidate will guide junior engineers and drive operational excellence across Windows infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities

Windows Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems across private and public cloud environments
• Manage system lifecycle activities including provisioning, patching, upgrades, technology currency, and decommissioning
• Monitor Windows platform health, performance, availability, and capacity through automation and observability capabilities
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for Windows platform incidents and recurring problems
• Implement Windows security hardening, baseline configuration, and compliance standards
• Manage platform integration with Active Directory, DNS, GPOs, certificates, service accounts, and enterprise authentication services

Automation & Orchestration

• Build and maintain automation scripts and frameworks using PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent tools
• Automate recurring Windows operational tasks including patching, reporting, configuration validation, and remediation
• Integrate Windows environments with enterprise automation platforms, observability toolsets, and ITSM workflows

24x7 Operations & Incident Management

• Team is responsible for 24x7 Windows operations including software patching, technology currency, and vulnerability management
• Oversee incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and service restoration for Windows infrastructure services
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Linux, storage, backup, network, security, and application teams

Operational Excellence

• Ensure high availability, scalability, security, and compliance of Windows server environments
• Develop reporting and service health metrics that improve operational visibility and accountability
