Job summary

Karnex Software Solution seeks an embedded software engineer to develop and integrate Wi‑Fi capabilities for In‑Vehicle Infotainment systems running on Linux and Android/AOSP.

You will work with hardware vendors and cross‑functional teams, review requirements, create high/ detailed design and test plans, and help resolve dependencies across the Wi‑Fi stack while ensuring robust integration and certification readiness.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of Wi‑Fi features in In‑Vehicle Infotainment systems.
• Experience with Android AOSP and Linux based infotainment/build environments.
• Experience with 802.11n/ac/ax and WPA2/WPA3 security standards.
• Experience in building WIFI Access point, Station and Direct features.
• Understanding of Android and Linux network stack.
• Proficient in capturing Wi‑Fi sniffer logs and analyzing PCAP files.
• Experience with WIFI Alliance certification.

Responsibilities

• Review requirement specifications and work with the requirements team to resolve issues and sign off.
• Create documentation for high/ detailed design and test plans for software modules.
• Develop Wi‑Fi capabilities for IVI systems in Linux and Android platforms.
• Coordinate with chipset vendors to resolve dependencies during development.
• Run static analysis, fix errors, and interact with hardware teams for board bring up.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues across development, stability and maintenance phases.
• Develop and integrate tools/scripts to automate testing.
• Run development testing and document test reports.
• Create reports on software development, issue resolution and testing.

Job description

Develop and integrate Wi‑Fi software for In‑Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems running on Linux and Android/AOSP, working across the Wi‑Fi stack, hardware, chipset vendors, and cross‑functional engineering teams.

Role & responsibilities

• Review requirement specifications and work along with requirements
  team to resolve issues in the specification and eventually signoff the
  specification.
• Create documentations for high level design, detailed design and test plans for the software modules.
• Working with cross-functional teams to develop the necessary
  software modules to build Wi‑Fi capabilities for In‑Vehicle infotainment systems in Linux and android platforms.
• Interact with cross-functional team within Visteon and as well as with
  external teams like chipset vendors to resolve dependencies during
  development and fixing issues across multiple layers of Wi‑Fi stack.
• Run static analysis on the software components, analyze and fix
  errors.
• Interact with hardware teams for board bring up activities, calibration
  activities and to root cause hardware level issues.
• Perform root cause analysis for the issues observed and resolve
  issues during development, stability, and maintenance phase of the
  project.
• Develop and integrate tools/scripts to automate testing.
• Run development testing and document the test reports.
• Create efficient reports with respect to software development, issues resolution and testing.

Preferred candidate profile

• Good Knowledge in Wi‑Fi features in In‑Vehicle Infotainment systems
• Strong in C, C++, Java programming skills.
• Working experience in Android AOSP and Linux based infotainment and build environments.
• Development experience in 802.11n, 802.11ac and 802.11ax
  standards and security standards like WPA2, WPA3
• Development experience in building WIFI Access point, WIFI Station
  and WIFI direct features.
• Good understanding of Android and Linux network stack
• Proficient in capturing Wi‑Fi sniffer logs and analyzing pcap files.
• Execution experience in WIFI Alliance certification
