Job summary

Shivtara Grain Milling in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, is seeking an experienced Wheat Procurement Manager to lead farm-gate and mandi purchases and oversee storage and dispatch to our mills in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

You will build farmer networks, ensure quality, manage a small team, and ensure compliance with MP mandi rules. Travel within Madhya Pradesh is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate, preferably B.Sc Agriculture; MBA in Agri-Business is a plus.
• 5–10 years of experience in wheat or grain procurement.
• Strong knowledge of MP mandis and APMC rules.
• Experience in warehouse management.
• Fluent in Hindi; working knowledge of English.
• Willing to travel within Madhya Pradesh.
• Proficient in Excel and basic reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run wheat buying in Jabalpur region and nearby belt.
• Build and maintain a network of farmers, FPOs, and traders.
• Buy directly from farmers and mandis per MP rules.
• Check grain quality at purchase and enforce quality standards.
• Track mandi prices, MSP, arrivals, and market trends.
• Manage rented warehouse: stocking, fumigation, records.
• Plan dispatches by road and rail with logistics team.
• Ensure proper payments, mandi fees, and compliance.
• Hire, train, and lead field buyers and warehouse staff.

Job description

Shivtara Grain Milling is setting up direct wheat procurement in Madhya Pradesh. We are looking for an experienced Wheat Procurement Manager based in Jabalpur to lead buying from mandis and directly from farmers, and to manage storage and dispatch to our flour mills in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Role & responsibilities:

• Plan and run wheat buying in the Jabalpur region and the Chhindwara-Seoni-Balaghat belt, especially during the March-June arrival season
• Build and maintain a strong network of farmers, FPOs, commission agents and traders
• Buy directly from farmers at the farm gate and through APMC mandis, following MP mandi rules and licence conditions
• Check grain quality at purchase (moisture, foreign matter, damaged grain, hectolitre weight) and ensure only specified quality is bought
• Track daily mandi prices, MSP, arrivals and market trends, and share regular reports with management
• Manage the rented warehouse: stocking, fumigation, stock records, quality during storage and monthly release of stock
• Plan dispatches by road and rail rake to our mills in coordination with the logistics team
• Ensure proper documentation, payments to farmers and vendors, mandi fees and statutory compliance
• Hire, train and lead a small team of field buyers and warehouse staff

Preferred candidate profile:

• Graduate, preferably B.Sc Agriculture; MBA in Agri-Business is a plus
• 5-10 years of experience in wheat or grain procurement with a flour mill, agri-trading company, warehousing firm or FMCG company
• Good knowledge of MP mandis, APMC rules and farmer procurement practices
• Hands-on experience in grain quality checks and warehouse management
• Fluent in Hindi; working knowledge of English
• Honest, disciplined and willing to travel extensively within Madhya Pradesh
• Comfortable with Excel and basic reporting
