• Market Analysis: monitor mandi prices, crop arrivals, weather, supply-demand cycles.
• Vendor Management: build and sustain network of farmers, traders, millers.
• Contract Negotiation: secure favorable pricing, credits, and delivery terms.
• Quality Control: coordinate QA to test moisture, foreign matter, aflatoxin.
• Logistics Coordination: manage inbound freight, weighbridge checks, warehousing.
• Compliance & Reporting: ensure adherence to APMC, GST; maintain MIS on spend/stock.

Role & responsibilities :

The Maize Purchase Manager secures high-quality corn at optimal market prices from farmers, mandis (local wholesale markets), aggregators, and suppliers. This role balances inventory levels with production demands while managing supplier relationships and monitoring agricultural market trends.

• Procurement Execution: Plan and execute bulk purchases of maize according to plant production schedules and inventory norms.
• Market Analysis: Track daily mandi prices, crop arrivals, weather patterns, and regional supply-demand cycles to time purchases effectively.
• Vendor Management: Build and maintain a strong network of farmers, commission agents, traders, and millers.
• Contract Negotiation: Negotiate competitive pricing, credit limits, and favorable delivery terms with suppliers.
• Quality Control: Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) teams to test and monitor moisture levels, foreign matter, and aflatoxin standards before intake.
• Logistics Coordination: Work with transport teams to manage inbound freight, weighbridge checks, and warehouse unloading.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to local agricultural laws (APMC, GST) and maintain management information system (MIS) reports on spend and stock.

Preferred candidate profile :

• Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of corn grading, seasonal crop cycles, and regional sourcing belts.
• Skills: Excellent negotiation, vendor development, analytical, and MS Excel/ERP reporting skills.
