FRIGATE in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu seeks a skilled welding technician with 5–7 years of experience in robotic and manual welding. The role requires setting up fixtures, selecting welding parameters, and ensuring weld quality in compliance with drawings and work instructions.

You will coordinate inspections with the Quality team, identify defects, and support corrective actions to minimize rework while maintaining equipment and production records according to 5S and safety standards.

Formación

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical/Production engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years experience in robotic welding and manual welding operations.
• Proficient in MIG/MAG and TIG welding and reading drawings.

Responsabilidades

• Operate robotic welding systems and perform manual welding as per approved drawings and work instructions.
• Set up welding fixtures, components, welding parameters and consumables.
• Perform manual MIG/MAG, TIG or other specified welding processes as required.
• Monitor weld quality, joint fit-up, weld size, distortion and surface finish.
• Support robotic welding setup, fixture alignment, trial runs and troubleshooting within authorized competency.
• Coordinate first-piece and weld inspection with the independent Quality team.
• Identify welding defects and support corrective actions to reduce rejection and rework.
• Maintain welding equipment, fixtures, consumables and production records.
• Follow welding procedures, PPE requirements, fume extraction, hot-work safety and 5S standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate robotic welding systems and perform manual welding as per approved drawings and work instructions.


• Set up welding fixtures, components, welding parameters and consumables.


• Perform manual MIG/MAG, TIG or other specified welding processes as required.

Qualifications And Experience

Technical Skills: Robotic welding operation, manual MIG/MAG and TIG welding, fixture setting, welding parameters, drawing interpretation and weld defect identification.
