Job summary

Frigate Engineering Services in India is seeking a senior welding professional for the Production – Welding department. You will operate robotic welding systems and perform manual welding as per drawings and work instructions, ensuring quality and process compliance.

The role requires 5–7 years of experience in robotic and manual welding, setup of fixtures and parameters, and close coordination with Quality for weld inspection. This on-site position reports to the Plant Head/Operations Head.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical, Production or relevant engineering discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in robotic welding and manual welding operations.
• Robotic welding operation, MIG/MAG and TIG welding, fixture setting, welding parameters, drawing interpretation and weld defect identification.

Responsibilities

• Operate robotic welding systems and perform manual welding as per approved drawings and work instructions.
• Set up welding fixtures, components, welding parameters and consumables.
• Perform manual MIG/MAG, TIG or other specified welding processes as required.
• Monitor weld quality, joint fit-up, weld size, distortion and surface finish.
• Support robotic welding setup, fixture alignment, trial runs and troubleshooting within authorized competency.
• Coordinate first-piece and weld inspection with the independent Quality team.
• Identify welding defects and support corrective actions to reduce rejection and rework.
• Maintain welding equipment, fixtures, consumables and production records.
• Follow welding procedures, PPE requirements, fume extraction, hot-work safety and 5S standards.
