Qualifications

• Understanding and experience with AWS D1.1, ASME, API and international specs.
• Strong troubleshooting in GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW and overlay.
• Root cause analysis and analytical skills required.
• Ability to interpret fabrication drawings for structures, vessels and piping.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy for carbon steel, stainless steel, low alloy steels, copper and nickel alloys.
• Basic knowledge of NDT techniques.
• Welding procedures qualification and approval before fabrication begins.
• Welder training and qualification prior to project start.
• Proper selection of welding consumables and ensuring inventory.
• Aim for low weld repairs and rejection rates.
• Experience implementing improved welding methodologies and automation.
