Job summary

First Launch Media is seeking a Web Developer to build and maintain WordPress and Shopify sites for clients. You’ll work with marketing, SEO, and design teams to ensure fast loading, strong rankings, and high conversion.

You’ll translate designs into responsive pages, optimize performance, implement SEO basics, and set up analytics like GA4 and GTM. This role offers growth toward senior developer or CRO paths in a hands-on, client-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using themes, page builders (Elementor, Gutenberg), and custom code where needed.
• Set up and customize Shopify stores, including theme edits in Liquid, app integrations, product and collection setup, and checkout-related configuration.
• Turn design mockups into responsive, accessible, pixel-accurate pages.
• Improve site performance: page speed, Core Web Vitals, image optimization, and caching.
• Implement technical SEO basics: clean structure, meta tags, schema, sitemaps, redirects, and indexing hygiene.
• Set up tracking and analytics, including GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and conversion events.
• Build and iterate on campaign landing pages, and support A/B tests and conversion rate optimization (CRO) experiments.
• Handle site audits, bug fixes, plugin and app updates, backups, and basic security hygiene.
• Communicate clearly with the team about timelines, blockers, and trade-offs.

You will build and maintain WordPress and Shopify websites for our clients, working closely with our marketing, SEO, and design teams. You will be expected to understand why a page exists, who it's for, and what it needs to make them do, and then build it so it loads fast, ranks well, and converts.

What We're Looking For

Must Have

• Solid fundamentals in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You should be able to fix a layout without reaching for a plugin.
• Hands-on experience building at least a few WordPress sites.
• Working familiarity with Shopify (store setup, theme customization, apps).
• Comfort with responsive design and cross-browser testing.
• The ability to figure things out independently: reading documentation, debugging, and trying things before asking.
• Clear written communication.

Good to Have

• Liquid templating for Shopify themes.
• Basic PHP for WordPress theme or plugin customization.
• Experience with GA4, GTM, or pixel setup.
• An understanding of SEO and page speed optimization.
• Familiarity with Git, staging environments, and hosting/DNS basics.
• An interest in marketing, CRO, or growth.
