Job summary

First Launch is seeking a Web Developer to join a young & dynamic team. You will build and maintain WordPress and Shopify websites for our clients, collaborating with marketing, SEO, and design teams to load fast, rank well, and convert.

You’ll handle WordPress themes, Shopify theme edits in Liquid, and implement analytics to measure success, while improving performance and optimizing conversions for SaaS, Fintech, and Healthcare clients.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building at least a few WordPress sites.
• Working familiarity with Shopify (store setup, theme customization, apps).
• Ability to figure things out independently: reading documentation, debugging, and trying things before asking.

Responsibilities

• Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using themes, page builders, and custom code.
• Set up and customize Shopify stores, including theme edits in Liquid and app integrations.
• Improve site performance: page speed, Core Web Vitals, image optimization, and caching.
• Implement technical SEO basics: clean structure, meta tags, schema, sitemaps, redirects, indexing hygiene.
• Set up tracking and analytics (GA4, GTM, pixel) to measure effectiveness.
• Build and iterate on campaign landing pages and support CRO experiments.
• Handle site audits, plugin updates, backups, and basic security hygiene.
• Communicate timelines, blockers, and trade-offs clearly with the team.

You will build and maintain WordPress and Shopify websites for our clients, working closely with our marketing, SEO, and design teams. You will be expected to understand why a page exists, who it’s for, and what it needs to make them do, and then build it so it loads fast, ranks well, and converts.

What You’ll Do

• Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using themes, page builders (Elementor, Gutenberg), and custom code where needed.
• Set up and customize Shopify stores, including theme edits in Liquid, app integrations, product and collection setup, and checkout-related configuration.
• Improve site performance: page speed, Core Web Vitals, image optimization, and caching.
• Implement technical SEO basics: clean structure, meta tags, schema, sitemaps, redirects, and indexing hygiene.
• Set up tracking and analytics, including GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and conversion events, so the marketing team can measure what’s working.
• Build and iterate on campaign landing pages, and support A/B tests and conversion rate optimization (CRO) experiments.
• Handle site audits, bug fixes, plugin and app updates, backups, and basic security hygiene.
• Communicate clearly with the team about timelines, blockers, and trade-offs.

What We’re Looking For?

Must Have

• Hands-on experience building at least a few WordPress sites.
• Working familiarity with Shopify (store setup, theme customization, apps).
• The ability to figure things out independently: reading documentation, debugging, and trying things before asking.

Good to Have

• Liquid templating for Shopify themes.
• Basic PHP for WordPress theme or plugin customization.
• Experience with GA4, GTM, or pixel setup.
• An understanding of SEO and page speed optimization.
• Familiarity with Git, staging environments, and hosting/DNS basics.
• An interest in marketing, CRO, or growth.
