Job summary

The Great Indian Studio is seeking a Web Developer & Technical SEO Specialist in India (West Bengal, New Town). You will develop, maintain and improve multiple websites and digital products across creative, e-commerce, and wedding-tech domains.

Ideal candidates are early in their careers, can work with designers and marketers, and will grow into full-stack/product-oriented developers. Freshers with strong projects may be considered.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, responsive design.
• Basic Git/GitHub knowledge and experience building websites.

Responsibilities

• Develop responsive, fast, modern websites for desktop, tablet and mobile.
• Convert design references into functional websites and pages.
• Maintain and improve existing websites and deployments.
• Ensure websites are fast, cross-browser compatible and accessible.
• Deploy sites, manage hosting, domains and DNS basics.
• Build reusable systems and template-based web experiences.
• Integrate with forms, APIs, payment systems and third-party tools.
• Work on e-commerce websites and platforms with theme/customisation.
• Implement basic and technical SEO across sites and collaborate with marketing.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and motivated Web Developer & Technical SEO Specialist to join our growing creative and digital team.

You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving multiple websites and digital products across creative, e-commerce, marketing, and wedding-tech categories.

Key Responsibilities

Website Development

• Develop responsive, fast, and modern websites for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
• Build new website pages, landing pages, and web experiences from design references.
• Convert Figma/design concepts into functional websites.
• Maintain and improve existing websites.
• Ensure websites are fast, responsive, and cross-browser compatible.
• Troubleshoot bugs and technical issues.
• Manage website deployment, hosting, domains, and basic DNS requirements.

Web Applications & Digital Products

• Work on reusable website systems and web-based products.
• Develop template-based systems where a single design can be customised for multiple clients.
• Build integrations with forms, APIs, payment systems, and third-party tools.
• Work with databases and basic backend functionality when required.
• Help develop internal tools and automation that improve operational efficiency.

E-commerce

• Work on e-commerce websites and platforms.
• Customise themes, layouts and functionality.
• Assist with integrations, payment gateways, forms and third-party applications.
• Improve website performance and user experience.

Technical SEO

• Implement basic and technical SEO requirements across websites.
• Work with Google Search Console and Google Analytics.
• Improve website speed and Core Web Vitals.
• Implement proper page titles, meta descriptions, heading structures, canonical tags, sitemap, and robots.txt.
• Implement Schema/structured data where required.
• Identify and fix technical issues affecting search visibility.
• Work closely with the marketing team on SEO requirements

Collaboration

• Work closely with graphic designers, illustrators, motion designers, and marketing team members.
• Convert creative concepts into technically feasible web experiences.
• Understand design requirements and suggest better technical solutions when appropriate.
• Take ownership of assigned projects from development through deployment.
