Job summary

Lufthansa Cargo in Panvel, India, is seeking cargo operations staff to ensure smooth handling of shipments in a dynamic, international environment. You will perform acceptance checks, assist in ULD build-up, weigh cargo, and adhere to CHM and GOM procedures while maintaining security standards.

The role requires 2–3 years in aviation operations, willingness to work shifts, English and Marathi proficiency, strong analytical skills, and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical acceptance of cargo, including Ready for Carriage (R4C) and security checks.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of cargo.
• Support ULD build-up and assist external staff during cargo handling activities.
• Weigh ULDs and trolleys accurately.
• Complete and sign ULD tags as required.
• Perform physical breakdown of ULDs.
• Report irregularities, including missing or damaged cargo and identify non-declared Dangerous Goods (DGR).
• Hand over freight to customers in accordance with procedures.
• Follow Cargo Handling Manual (CHM) and Ground Operations Manual (GOM) procedures.
• Observe security requirements of the company and local authorities.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent qualification in accordance with applicable Cargo Handling Manual (CHM) and Ground Operations Manual (GOM) requirements is desirable
• Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in the aviation industry, preferably in a relevant operational role
• Must willing to work shifts
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken, as well as the Marathi language
• Good computer literacy and proficiency in standard office applications
• Strong analytical skills, business acumen and strategic thinking
• High degree of reliability, teamwork, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Must possess a valid driver's licence
