Overview

Job Title: Load Controller

Function: Operations

Location: Mumbai – Andheri

Reporting To: Operations Manager / Manager – Centralized Load Control / Head of Operations

Responsibilities

• Position Objective: Responsible for developing loading and unloading plans, ensuring compliance with aviation safety regulations, and optimizing aircraft space to maximize efficiency. Requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and collaboration with various teams to ensure seamless cargo operations. Must have a deep understanding of airline regulations and compliances.
• Compute Weight and Balance for the aircraft and create cargo loading plans using load planning systems.
• Execute efficient loading/unloading processes to maximize aircraft efficiency and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all cargo, including weight, dimensions, and special handling requirements.
• Coordinate with relevant agencies for flight schedules, parking slots, and pre-arrival/post-arrival requirements as per airline guidelines.
• Verify compliance with aviation regulations regarding the transportation of hazardous materials and restricted items.
• Collaborate with ground handling personnel, pilots, and other stakeholders to coordinate cargo loading/unloading activities.
• Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to address aircraft weight and balance concerns.
• Conduct pre-flight ramp inspections to ensure secure stowage and adherence to safety compliance.
• Address and resolve cargo discrepancies, ensuring smooth cargo integrity management.
• Liaise with service providers/vendors for smooth pre- and post-departure processes.
• Oversee systematic and damage-free cargo loading/unloading activities.
• Ensure proper execution of the load plan with adherence to aircraft safety standards.
• Collaborate with loadmasters for pre-departure inspections, ensuring compliance with processes.
• Coordinate with ATC for smooth clearance of aircraft and address any flight delays.
• Prepare and send reports related to flights as per airline guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Academic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Operations, or a related field.
• Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Load Controlling/Loadmaster departments in aviation cargo operations. Proven experience in team coordination and communication with stakeholders.
• Competency Requirements:
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiarity with load planning tools for optimizing cargo distribution. Knowledge of aircraft weight and balance principles, cargo loading procedures, and aviation safety standards. Report preparation as per airline guidelines.
  • Behavioral Skills: Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive. Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Additional Certifications: DG certification is a plus. Experience with specific aircraft types (e.g., B747-400F, B747-8F, B777F) is preferred.
