Job summary

Remmy Substrates is seeking an EHS Assistant to support health, safety and environmental activities at our site in Tamil Nadu. The role focuses on identifying hazards, reporting risks, and assisting in emergency preparedness and safety communications.

You'll help maintain EHS records, assist inspections, and participate in HIRA/JSA activities while promoting safe work practices under supervision. Hindi knowledge is an added advantage for the team.

Responsibilities

• Health, Safety & Environmental support duties including hazard reporting and risk identification.
• Maintain EHS records, checklists and documentation; support inspections and audits.
• Assist in risk assessment, KPI data collection and management review inputs.
• Support machine safety checks and MOC documentation.

Role & responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental Support

• Assist in identifying and reporting workplace hazards and risks.
• Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills and basic response.
• Promote safe work practices under supervision.
• Ensure compliance with basic local EHS regulations.

EHS Policies & Compliance

• Help in maintaining EHS records, checklists, and documentation.
• Support inspections, audits, and compliance reporting.
• Assist in implementing ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 requirements.

Risk Assessment & Monitoring

• Participate in hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA, JSA).
• Collect data for EHS KPIs and assist in preparing reports.
• Provide inputs during Management Review Meetings.

Machine Safety & Change Management

• Maintain and update the machine register.
• Support machine safety checks and ensure basic safeguarding.
• Assist in documenting changes under the Management of Change (MOC) process.

Training & Awareness

• Conduct EHS induction for new employees and contractors.
• Organize toolbox talks, awareness sessions, and safety communication.
• Encourage employee participation in safety culture initiatives.
