Job summary

DDE Bioengineering Pvt. Ltd. in Pune seeks a Safety Officer – EHS to implement, monitor, and maintain Environment, Health & Safety standards. The role requires hands-on site safety management, PTW systems, risk assessment, toolbox talks, and incident investigations across shop and project sites.

The ideal candidate will ensure emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, and strong documentation, MIS, and safety training programs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience implementing and monitoring EHS programs.
• Experience with fabrication/erection site safety, PTW, and LOTO.
• Proven ability to conduct audits, risk assessments and trainings.

Responsibilities

• EHS management for fabrication and erection activities at shop sites and projects.
• Conduct toolbox talks, inductions and safety orientations.
• Prepare/review JSA, SOP, and risk assessments; manage PTW; ensure LOTO compliance.
• Monitor safety during fabrication, welding, NDT, hydro testing, lifting and rigging.
• Investigate incidents/near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with client EHS teams and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain EHS records, MIS and documentation; conduct mock drills.
• Waste management compliance with MPCB norms and related forms.

Job Profile Overview :

We are looking for a Safety Officer – EHS responsible for implementing, monitoring and maintaining Environment, Health & Safety standards.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in site safety management, permit-to-work systems, risk assessment, toolbox talks, safety inspections, incident investigation, emergency preparedness and statutory compliance.

Accountable & Responsible for:

1) EHS Management: Implement and monitor EHS requirements for fabrication and erection activities at shop and project sites as per company and client standards.

2) Safety Training & Awareness: Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions and orientation for employees, workmen and subcontractors.

3) Risk Assessment & PTW: Prepare/review JSA, SOP, HIRA and risk assessments; manage PTW and ensure strict LOTO compliance for high-risk activities.

4) Site Safety & Equipment Inspection: Monitor fabrication, erection, welding, NDT, hydro testing, lifting, rigging, work-at-height, confined space and hot work activities; inspect scaffolding, cranes, tools, equipment, gas cylinders and PPE.

5) Incident Management: Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, conduct RCA and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.

6) Compliance & Client Coordination: Coordinate with client EHS teams, conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with the Factories Act, BOCW Act and other applicable regulations.

7) Emergency & Documentation: Conduct mock drills, promote safety culture and maintain EHS records, registers, reports and MIS.

8)Waste Management: Experienced in handling Hazardous/Non-Hazardous Waste Management. Adept with MPCB Norms, return Forms (Form 4, Form 5, Form 7, Form 10, etc.) and their compliance.

Mandatory Skills:

• Experience in ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 Standards and Safety Audits.

• Workplace Safety Management with a focus on achieving Zero LTI.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Compliance with company, client and statutory EHS requirements.

• Timely completion of safety inspections, toolbox talks, inductions and mock drills.

• Timely closure of EHS audit observations and accurate EHS documentation/MIS.
