Job summary

Oxygrosystems in Bengaluru seeks an Automation Engineer to ensure client systems run automatically from day one, enabling operators to manage processes independently.

You will program Siemens S7-1200/1500 using TIA Portal and WinCC, design panels, simulate with PLCSIM Advanced, and lead IT/OT integration, remote access, data logging, and on-site commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level technical degree or diploma in electrical/electronics/instrumentation/mechatronics.
• 2+ years in PLC programming and commissioning.
• Hands-on with Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200/1500) and WinCC HMI.
• Experience in process automation or machine building preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make every system installed run automatically from day one so the client can operate it without us.
• Program PLCs, simulate and commission remotely and on-site.
• Design control panels: schematics, layout and cable schedules.
• Create reusable, parameter-driven programs for multiple projects.
• Configure setpoints, flow, pressure, scaling, and calibration accurately.
• Work across IT and OT: networks, Profinet, IP addressing, VPN, data logging and databases.
• Select sensors, drives, pumps, valves, actuators.
• Ensure automatic process control with alarms and safe failure states.
• Troubleshoot client systems remotely and on-site; resolve faults quickly.
• Commission on site and train client operators.

Role & responsibilities

Make every system we install run automatically from day one, so the client's team can operate it without us.

• PLC programming in Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200/1500) and WinCC HMI
• Simulation and virtual commissioning in PLCSIM Advanced, SIMIT or equivalent
• Control panel design: schematics, panel layout and cable schedules
• Writing one reusable, parameter-driven program instead of rebuilding each project
• Calculating and configuring the values behind every sub-system (setpoints, flow, pressure, scaling and calibration) and entering them accurately
• Working across IT and OT: networks, Profinet, IP addressing, VPN and remote access, data logging, databases, and getting control systems talking to IT systems
• Selecting sensors, drives, pumps, valves and actuators
• Automatic process control with alarms and safe failure states
• Troubleshooting client systems, diagnosing faults remotely by VPN and on site, and resolving them quickly
• Commissioning on site and training the client's operators

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or Mechatronics
• 2 years and above of experience in PLC programming and commissioning
• Hands‑on with Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200/1500) and WinCC HMI
• Experience in process automation or machine building preferred
• Has designed control panels: schematics, layout and cable schedules
• Precision and attention to detail
• Willing to learn new systems quickly
• Willing to travel abroad for commissioning
