Job summary

Galaxy Innovations in Delhi, India seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience in the medical/orthopaedic design space. The role focuses on implants, surgical instruments, and manufacturing-ready solutions using SolidWorks.

You will model 3D parts, sheet metal, and interpret 3D scan data, while aligning with VMC machining and tooling workflows. Ideal candidates have hands-on jig/fixture design experience and a strong grasp of design-for-manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of orthopaedic implants and surgical instruments.
• Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Expertise in 3D part modelling and sheet bending/design.
• Ability to read and interpret 3D scan data.
• Strong knowledge of VMC machining, production processes and tooling.
• Hands-on expertise in jig and fixture design/development and understanding of how manufacturing tools work.
• Experience in design for manufacturing and production oriented design.
• Exposure to aerospace or automotive manufacturing will be an added advantage.
• Preferred candidate profile: Medical industry, orthopaedic implants and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Work on orthopaedic implants and surgical instruments design and optimization.
• Utilize SolidWorks for detailed part modelling and assembly tasks.
• Develop 3D models and sheet metal designs for manufacturing.
• Read and interpret 3D scan data to validate designs.
• Plan and optimize VMC machining and tooling processes.
• Design and develop jigs and fixtures to streamline production.
• Incorporate design-for-manufacturing principles into projects.
• Exposure to aerospace/automotive manufacturing is a plus.
