Job summary

IF MedTech Pvt Ltd in Navi Mumbai is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead the mechanical design and prototyping for multiple device programs. This hands-on role combines first-line project and people responsibilities, driving concept generation, detailed design, and vendor collaboration to deliver safe, compliant products.

You will supervise output reviews, ensure designs meet ISO/IEC standards, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating across manufacturing partners to enable production

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years in mechanical design; 5-7 years in medical devices or other regulated products.
• Strong SolidWorks, GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience reviewing others' design work and allocating tasks.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design of enclosures, instruments and electromechanical assemblies - concept to production-intent
• 3D models, detailed drawings and BOMs in SolidWorks
• Design reviews at each stage gate, and design outputs that comply with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601-1, IEC 62366 and ISO 10993
• Engineering calculations, tolerance stack-ups and FEA-supported validation
• DFM, DFA, DFMEA, PFMEA across injection moulding, sheet metal, casting, CNC and 3D printing
• Vendor identification, qualification and coordination across Mumbai-Pune manufacturing ecosystem
• Task allocation, multi-project planning, and mentoring junior design engineers

At IF MedTech, we take medical devices from concept to design transfer - mechanical, electronics and software, under design control.

We're now looking for someone to lead mechanical design across multiple concurrent device programs. This is a hands-on role with first-line project and people responsibility: driving concept generation and detailed design, reviewing the team's output, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with vendors and manufacturing partners to turn designs into safe, compliant, manufacturable products.
