Job summary

Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital in Chennai is seeking a vigilant Nursing Supervisor to oversee daily nursing activities in the Ward/ICU and ensure quality patient care. You will monitor patient conditions, escalate deteriorations to doctors, ensure accurate medication administration and proper nursing documentation, and conduct regular rounds to supervise staff performance and adherence to protocols.

• Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities in the assigned Ward / ICU
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly escape clinical deterioration and emergencies to the treating doctors
• Ensure proper medication administration, treatment implementation, and nursing documentation
• Conduct regular rounds to monitor patient care, staff performance, and compliance with nursing protocols
• Ensure proper shift handover and takeover of patient care
• Prepare duty rosters, allocate nursing staff, and monitor attendance, punctuality, and performance
• Guide, supervise, and train nursing staff to maintain clinical competency and service quality
• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and bed management
• Ensure proper maintenance of patient records, nursing notes, and clinical documentation
• Ensure safe handling and proper functioning of medical equipment, emergency drugs, and nursing supplies
• Supervise the use of ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and other critical care equipment in the ICU
• Ensure compliance with infection control practices, biomedical waste management, and patient safety protocols
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, nursing standards, and applicable NABH requirements
• Monitor and report patient safety incidents, medication errors, and near-miss events; participate in audits and quality improvement activities
• Coordinate with doctors and other departments, address patient and attendant concerns, and maintain patient confidentiality
