Job summary

Medaz Hospital in Patna, India seeks a Facilities Engineer to oversee critical life-safety and utility systems. You will monitor oxygen pipelines, DG sets, UPS, lifts, water pumps, and fire safety, ensuring uninterrupted operations in a high‑acuity healthcare environment.

The role focuses on maintaining cleanroom and ward air quality through HVAC and chillers, planning preventive maintenance, responding to emergencies, and coordinating with vendors on AMC/CMC contracts, while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital facilities or large commercial buildings (2–5+ years)
• Knowledge of NABH or equivalent healthcare regulations
• Ability to manage annual maintenance contracts and external contractors

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain life-safety and utility systems (oxygen/medical gas pipelines, DG sets, UPS, lifts, water pumps, fire safety)
• Operate and repair HVAC, chillers, and refrigeration units to maintain air-quality standards in cleanrooms, surgeries and wards
• Plan, implement and track preventive maintenance routines and respond to emergency breakdowns
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, fire safety rules, and healthcare accreditations
• Coordinate annual maintenance contracts (AMCs/CMC) and supervise external specialized contractors for equipment

Job description

• Critical Systems Management: Monitor and maintain life-safety and utility systems including oxygen/medical gas pipelines, diesel generator (DG) sets, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units, lifts/elevators, water pumps, and fire safety systems. [1]
• HVAC & Plant Operations: Operate and repair heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC), chillers, and refrigeration units to maintain strict cleanroom, surgery, and ward air-quality standards. [1, 2]
• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Plan, implement, and track scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) routines and rapidly respond to emergency breakdown work orders. [1]
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all engineering operations comply with local building codes, fire safety rules, and healthcare accreditations (such as NABH or equivalent statutory guidelines). [1]
• Vendor & Contract Management: Coordinate annual maintenance contracts (AMC/CMC) and supervise external specialized contractors for elevators, medical gases, or major equipment.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience: Typically 2 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in hospital facilities, large commercial buildings, or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) contracting
