Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have experience in designing, developing, and commissioning Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs).
• Knowledge of machine design, fixture design, and assembly systems.
• Proficient in CAD software and understanding of industrial automation architecture.
• Experience with electro-pneumatic and pneumatic systems and ability to read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated test benches, fixtures, and SPMs.
• Execute projects from concept through commissioning and validation.
• Coordinate with vendors, machine builders, fixture manufacturers, and internal stakeholders.
• Evaluate proposals, review vendor designs, and support supplier development.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, R&D, and partners for project success.
• Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, DAQ, sensors, and pneumatic system integration.
• Conduct FAT/SAT, trouble-shooting, machine trials, and root cause analyses.
• Prepare technical docs, BOMs, SOPs, and validation reports.
• Drive automation, Industry 4.0, productivity gains, and cost reduction.

Designation: Deputy Manager Test Engineer

Experience: 2 to 5 years

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech (Electrical & Mechanical)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated test benches, fixtures, and SPMs.
• Execute projects from concept, design, procurement, installation, validation, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with vendors, machine builders, fixture manufacturers, automation suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Evaluate technical proposals, review vendor designs, and support new supplier development activities.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, R&D, and external partners for successful project implementation
• Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, DAQ, sensor, and pneumatic system integration.
• Conduct FAT/SAT, troubleshooting, machine trials, and root cause analysis.
• Prepare technical documentation, BOMs, SOPs, and validation reports.
• Drive automation, Industry 4.0, productivity improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.

Must Have:

• Experience in design, development, and commissioning of Automated Test Equipment (ATE), Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Production Automation Systems
• Knowledge of machine design, fixture design, and assembly systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Mechanical, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent CAD software.
• Understanding of industrial automation architecture and machine integration.
• Experience with electro-pneumatic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings.

Preferred:

• Experience with switchgear products test automation.
• Knowledge of integration of PLC and industrial communication protocols.
• Knowledge of electrical switchgear components
• Knowledge of pneumatics, electro-pneumatic systems, and fixture automation.
• Understanding of sensors, actuators, servo systems, and motion control.
• Knowledge of jigs, fixtures, poka-yoke mechanisms, and machine safety systems.
• Familiarity with Industrial IoT (IIoT), smart manufacturing, and digitalization initiatives.
• Experience working in high-current, medium-voltage, or electrical testing environments.
