Qualifications

• B.Sc. Nursing or GNM from a recognized institution.
• Valid nursing registration with the respective State Nursing Council.
• Relevant hospital/day-care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after day-care procedures.
• Monitor vital signs and observe for changes or adverse reactions.
• Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and prescribed treatments as per orders.
• Assist doctors during minor procedures and interventions.
• Ensure proper preparation of patients, rooms, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain accurate nursing records and patient documentation.
• Monitor infusion therapies and report adverse reactions or emergencies.
• Follow infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Provide pre- and post-procedure instructions to patients and attendants.

Job Purpose

To provide safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care to patients undergoing day-care procedures, treatments, infusions, minor procedures, and other short-duration clinical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after day-care procedures and treatments.
• Monitor vital signs and observe patients for any clinical changes or adverse reactions.
• Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and prescribed treatments as per physician orders.
• Assist doctors during minor procedures and interventions.
• Ensure proper preparation of patients, procedure rooms, equipment, and required supplies.
• Maintain accurate nursing records, treatment charts, medication records, and patient documentation.
• Monitor patients during infusion therapies and immediately report any adverse reactions or emergencies.
• Follow medication safety, infection control, hand hygiene, and patient safety protocols.
• Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure instructions to patients and attendants.
• Educate patients regarding medications, wound care, follow-up appointments, and warning signs.
• Ensure proper identification of patients and verification of treatment orders before procedures.
• Coordinate with doctors, pharmacy, laboratory, billing, and other departments for smooth patient flow.
• Maintain cleanliness, readiness, and availability of emergency equipment in the Day Care unit.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with hospital policies and NABH standards.
• Participate in audits, quality initiatives, training programs, and other departmental activities.
