Job summary

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in VMC setting (Fanuc or similar controls) including tool selection, offsets, and program editing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, use vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and work to close tolerances.
• Understanding of basic manufacturing processes, cutting speeds and feeds, and shop-floor safety practices.
• Diploma/ITI in Mechanical or related discipline preferred.

Role Description The VMC Setter with programming knowledge will be responsible for setting up and operating Vertical Machining Centers, including selecting tools, fixtures, and setting work coordinates for production runs. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, preparing and adjusting VMC programs, performing trial runs, and ensuring components meet dimensional and quality standards. The role involves routine inspection of parts, basic machine maintenance, troubleshooting machining issues, and collaborating with engineers and quality teams to improve process efficiency. This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Thirumudivakkam‑Chennai, requiring close coordination with the production team to meet delivery schedules and maintain safety and housekeeping standards on the shop floor.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, use measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges), and work to close tolerances.
• Understanding of basic manufacturing processes, cutting speeds and feeds, and shop‑floor safety practices.
• Preferred: Diploma/ITI in Mechanical or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in precision component manufacturing.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment, manage time effectively, and adapt to production priorities.
