Job summary

SP Staffing in Chennai facility seeks an experienced VMC Setter cum Programmer. The role covers setting, programming, and operating VMCs to manufacture precision components per engineering drawings.

You will load programs, perform 2D programming, inspect parts, and maintain logs with strict adherence to safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates have hands-on VMC experience (3–7 years), familiarity with Fanuc/Siemens controls, and meticulous attention to GD&T and metrology.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in VMC setting, operation and programming.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
• Experience with precision measurement and metrology.
• Familiarity with Fanuc or Siemens controls is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot programs and optimize machining sequences.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate VMC machines, including tooling, fixtures and program loading.
• Perform machine setting and ensure proper tool and workpiece alignment.
• Operate VMC machines to manufacture precision components as per drawings.
• Input, modify, adjust and optimize VMC programs for efficient machining.
• Perform 2D programming and troubleshoot program-related issues.
• Conduct in-process inspection and ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Use micrometers and gauges for inspection.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Perform routine machine checks and Daily Preventive Maintenance.
• Maintain production records, inspection reports and machine logs.
• Follow production schedules, quality standards and safety procedures.
