Job summary

Talent Corner Hr Services is seeking an experienced CNC VMC Setter / Machinist in India to set up VMC machines, read drawings, select tools, and verify programs. You will adjust offsets and wear, monitor machining, and perform first-piece inspections while coordinating with Quality and Maintenance teams.

Expect hands-on setting experience on Fanuc, Mitsubishi or Siemens controls, plus proficiency with precision measuring tools and common metrology equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up VMC machines per production requirements.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced CNC VMC Setter / Machinist with hands-on experience in VMC machine setting, tool setting, job setting and CNC machining.

Role & responsibilities

• Set up VMC machines for different components as per production requirements.


• Read and interpret engineering and component drawings.


• Select and install cutting tools, holders, collets and fixtures.


• Perform tool setting and component alignment.


• Set and adjust tool offsets, work offsets, tool length compensation and wear offsets.


• Load, verify and make necessary corrections to CNC programs.


• Set cutting parameters and monitor machining operations.


• Perform first-piece inspection and maintain dimensional accuracy.


• Identify and rectify dimensional variation, tool wear, burrs, poor surface finish, tool breakage, chatter and vibration.


• Use Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge and other measuring instruments.


• Monitor tool life and replace tools when required.


• Coordinate with Quality, Production, Tool Room and Maintenance teams.


• Maintain production targets and minimize rejection and rework.


• Follow 5S, housekeeping and safety procedures.

Preferred candidate profile

• Hands-on experience in VMC machine setting and operation.


• Good knowledge of CNC machining processes.


• Ability to read engineering drawings.


• Knowledge of tool selection and cutting tools.


• Knowledge of fixtures and component setting.


• Good knowledge of tool offsets and work offsets.


• Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code.


• Knowledge of cutting speed, feed and depth of cut.


• Good knowledge of precision measuring instruments.


• Ability to troubleshoot machining and quality issues.


• Experience in precision component machining.


• Experience in job setting and tool setting.


• Experience with MS, EN-series steels, SS, Aluminium and cast components.


• Experience with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens or similar CNC controls.

Important:

Candidates must have hands-on VMC setting experience. Candidates with only VMC machine operating experience and no independent setting experience may not be suitable.
