Qualifications

• Core skills include blueprint reading, deep knowledge of cutting tools, understanding of GD&T, and proficiency with controllers.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit 2D/3D CNC programs using G-code, M-code, or CAD/CAM software.
• Secure raw materials, install cutting tools, and set work coordinates.
• Regulate machining parameters and monitor the machine during operation.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Identify and resolve machining errors while conducting routine maintenance.

A VMC (Vertical Machining Center) programmer and operator sets up, programs, and runs CNC milling machines to manufacture precision metal parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming: Create and edit 2D/3D CNC programs using G‑code, M‑code, or CAD/CAM software (such as Unigraphics or Solid Edge) based on part blueprints.
• Machine Setup: Secure raw materials, install cutting tools, set work coordinates, and establish tool offsets for precision machining.
• Operation & Monitoring: Regulate machining parameters—such as feed rates, spindle speeds, and coolant flow—while closely monitoring the machine during operation.
• Quality Control: Perform in‑process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, Vernier calipers, and height gauges.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify and resolve machining errors, conduct routine machine maintenance, and keep the work area safe and clean.
