Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute repair and dry-docking works, including major repairs.
  • Monitor vessel performance and PMS.
  • Conduct vessel inspections two/three times per year and follow up on issues.
  • Maintain system input and follow up on open items in Jibe, Shipnet and Eyeshare.
  • Prepare and monitor survey cycles and statutory survey requirements, including PSC.
  • Monitor and control purchase and delivery of spare parts and stores.
  • Prepare operating budgets for fleet manager/director review and monitor spending vs. budget.
  • Participate in pre-purchase/pre-takeover checks and prepare inspection reports for owners.
  • Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses to clear vessels through vetting.

Job description

Note: This position can be based in either of our offices in Hamburg, Germany, or Navi Mumbai, India.

Provide operation management services to several ships under charge to ensure they run in a safe manner as required by AESM, and the running costs for all the vessels are within the budget allocated by the ship owners.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute works related to repair and dry-docking, including both routine repairs and major repairs.
  • Monitor the vessel performance and PMS.
  • Conduct vessel inspection for each ship under charge two/three times a year and follow up on issues identified.
  • Maintain system input and follow up on open items in Jibe, Shipnet and Eyeshare
  • Prepare and monitor survey cycles, statutory survey requirements / repairs to ensure compliance. PSC Preparation.
  • Monitor and control the purchase and delivery of spare parts and stores supplied to the vessels.
  • Prepare the operating budgets for fleet manager/director review and monitor the actual budget spending vs the budget throughout the year. Escalate the issue in case the costs are expected to exceed the budget.
  • Participate in pre-purchase/pre-takeover third party checking, as well as inspection and reports for the owners as per request
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis getting the vessel cleared through vetting companies and terminals.

  • Internal: Shipboard team, ECD, technical teams and all other departments
Knowledge & Experience
Education

- To have Chief Engineer's or Master's (F.G.) Certificate of Competency.

- Degree / Diploma holder in Naval Architecture.
