Job summary

Anglo-Eastern is seeking qualified naval engineers to plan and execute repairs and dry-docking for a fleet of vessels. The role involves monitoring vessel performance and planned maintenance systems, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with statutory survey requirements.

You will manage spare parts procurement, budget oversight, and pre-purchase checks for owners. The ideal candidate holds Chief Engineer's or Master's (F.G.) Certificate of Competency and a degree or diploma

Qualifications

  • Chief Engineer's or Master's (F.G.) Certificate of Competency required.
  • Degree or Diploma in Naval Architecture required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute works related to repair and dry-docking, including routine and major repairs.
  • Monitor vessel performance and PMS.
  • Conduct vessel inspections two to three times a year and follow up on issues identified.
  • Maintain system input and follow up on open items in Jibe, Shipnet, and Eyeshare.
  • Prepare and monitor survey cycles, statutory survey requirements/repairs, and ensure compliance (PSC preparation).
  • Monitor and control purchase and delivery of spare parts and stores to vessels.
  • Prepare operating budgets for fleet manager/director review; monitor budget versus actual spending; raise issues if costs exceed budget.
  • Participate in pre-purchase/pre-takeover third-party checks, inspections and reports for owners.
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis to clear vessels through vetting companies and terminals.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute works related to repair and dry‑docking, including both routine repairs and major repairs.
  • Monitor vessel performance and PMS.
  • Conduct vessel inspections for each ship under charge two to three times a year and follow up on issues identified.
  • Maintain system input and follow up on open items in Jibe, Shipnet, and Eyeshare.
  • Prepare and monitor survey cycles, statutory survey requirements / repairs, and ensure compliance. PSC Preparation.
  • Monitor and control the purchase and delivery of spare parts and stores supplied to the vessels.
  • Prepare the operating budgets for fleet manager/director review; monitor actual budget spending versus the budget throughout the year; and raise issues if costs are expected to exceed the budget.
  • Participate in pre‑purchase/pre‑takeover third‑party checking, as well as inspection and reports for the owners as requested.
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis to get the vessel cleared through vetting companies and terminals.
Requirements
Communication
  • External: Insurers, suppliers, owners, flag state, class, vetting companies.
  • Internal: Shipboard team, ECD, technical teams, and all other departments.
Education
  • Chief Engineer's or Master's (F.G.) Certificate of Competency.
  • Degree or Diploma holder in Naval Architecture.
