Anglo-Eastern is seeking a Vessel Performance Centre Specialist in Navi Mumbai to provide 24/7 real-time voyage monitoring, analyse routes, and deliver actionable insights that enhance safety and efficiency. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years sailing experience with a valid Class I/II CoC (Deck).
  • 2+ years in a vessel performance centre or vessel operations ashore, preferably 24/7.
  • Anglo-Eastern senior officers preferred.
  • Proven track record using digital tools and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Voyage Monitoring: Track real-time vessel progress to improve safety and routing.
  • Voyage Review: Analyze completed voyages to identify sub-optimal routing and improvements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct review meetings with vessels, Owners, Technical and Operations teams.
  • Feedback Integration: Collect and implement feedback to explore fuel optimization possibilities.
  • Owner Liaison: Act as Key Account Manager for Owners advising on safety, security or risk.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare performance reports and project documentation.
  • Support to Shore Teams: Provide technical and analytical support for voyage planning and execution.
  • Research & Development: Contribute to initiatives improving safety, security or risk.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Align performance goals with operational strategies.

Job description

Purpose:
To support continuous vessel performance monitoring in a 24/7 operations centre, ensuring timely alerts and insights that contribute to voyage safety, and operational decision-making.

Why the Position Exists:
This role exists to provide round-the-clock surveillance of vessel movements and performance metrics. It enables proactive support to Technical and Operations teams by identifying routing inefficiencies, fuel optimisation opportunities, and compliance deviations.

Limits and Objectives:
The position operates within defined monitoring protocols and escalation procedures. It does not involve direct owner engagement or strategic account management. The objective is to maintain operational vigilance and provide actionable data to shore teams.

ROLES ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Below are the principal responsibilities of the role:

  1. Voyage Monitoring:
    Track vessel progress in real-time to identify opportunities for improving safety and optimal routing via security sensitive areas.
  2. Voyage Review:
    Analyse completed voyages to detect sub-optimal routing, and recommend improvements.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement:
    Conduct review meetings with Vessels, Owners, Technical and Operations teams to discuss gaps and improvement strategies.
  4. Feedback Integration:
    Collect and implement feedback from vessels and shore teams to explore fuel optimisation possibilities.
  5. Owner Liaison:
    Act as Key Account Manager for Owners requiring advise on safety, security or risk for the vessels, ensuring regular communication and feedback.
  6. Reporting & Documentation:
    Prepare performance reports and project documentation as directed by management.
  7. Support to Shore Teams:
    Provide technical and analytical support to Operations and Technical teams for voyage planning and execution.
  8. Research & Development:
    Contribute to R&D initiatives focused on improving safety, security or risk.
  9. Cross-functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with internal teams to align performance goals with operational strategies.
KEY SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:
Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in marine navigation and route planning across various vessel types.
  • Strong understanding of voyage performance management and industry regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with digital tools and data analytics platforms used in vessel monitoring.
Professional Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in multicultural team environments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong motivation and initiative.
  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, shift-based setting.
  • Creative problem-solving and “out-of-the-box” thinking to tackle operational challenges.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION :
  • Minimum 5 years of sailing experience (Masters/Chief Officers/2/Os) with a valid Class I/ II Certificate of Competency (Deck).
  • Preferably, atleast 2 years of experience in a vessel performance centre or vessel operations or similar roles ashore, preferably in a 24/7 operational setup.
  • Senior Officers from Anglo-Eastern will be given preference
  • Proven track record of working with digital tools and contributing to data-driven decision-making.
