Job summary

Licious in Bengaluru seeks a procurement specialist to secure quality livestock for GOAT and Lamb supply, with on-ground vendor management and market engagement. You will ensure slaughterhouse sessions meet quality standards and build direct-to-farm networks.

The role demands travel to rural markets, aggressive negotiation, and real-time reporting on yield and processing standards to keep our fresh meat supply robust and cost-effective.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in livestock procurement, meat industry operations, or agricultural sourcing.
• Ability to identify quality livestock and understand meat specs (weight, age).

Responsibilities

• Ensure physical presence at slaughterhouses during Goat and Lamb slaughtering sessions to monitor quality and adherence to protocol.
• Identify and onboard new vendors in alignment with Licious Standard Specifications to ensure a consistent supply of Goat and Lamb.
• Conduct regular audits of vendor facilities to ensure compliance with respect to quality.
• Visit local markets (Shanties/Mandies) to evaluate and purchase live animals, ensuring the selection of healthy livestock.
• Develop a direct-to-farm network by identifying and engaging farmers for bulk purchases, reducing dependency on middlemen.
• Maintain real-time reporting on yield, quality, and processing standards.
• Travel extensively to rural markets (Shanties/Mandis) and work flexible hours in sync with slaughterhouse timing.
