Job summary

BMW-Techworks-India is seeking a skilled Software Test Engineer to be responsible for creating, specifying, and verifying internal work products related to software testing.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in HIL environments and possess strong knowledge of automotive communication standards. Responsibilities include developing test cases, executing them remotely, and analyzing results to ensure compliance with requirements. A solid understanding of charging functions and relevant standards such as ISO 15118 is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with charging functions such as AC charging, DC charging, and V2X.
• Knowledge of ISO 15118 and DIN 70121 standards.
• Ability to review software test cases against quality criteria.

Responsibilities

• Modify and develop test cases for software requirements.
• Perform remote execution of test cases on test benches.
• Analyze test case results and logs.

Skills

Knowledge of Automotive buses CAN/LIN/Ethernet

Experience on HIL environment or similar setup

Test automation and structured test execution

Hands-on understanding of Python scripting

Knowledge of relevant charging standards

Understanding of E/E systems

Job description

• The role is responsible for the creation, specification, or verification of all internal work products, which are assigned to the role.
• Writing software test cases is in conformance with the defined coding guidelines and the allocated requirements
• Remotely access test benches (HIL) to verify:-

• Correct execution of test cases
• Compliance with requirements and test descriptions

• Test case result analysis
• Knowledge of Automotive buses CAN/LIN/Ethernet
• Experience on HIL environment or similar setup is must
• To create and maintain below work products.

  • Software Test Design Specification
  • Software Test Report

Task :

• Modify and Develop test cases for all test levels which provide evidence that all software requirements are fulfilled in the implemented software.
• Perform remote execution of test cases on test benches
• Verify correct behavior according to requirements and documentation.
• Experience with charging functions, such as:
• AC charging
• DC charging
• V2X
• MaLiBu (or equivalent charging-related functions)
• Knowledge of relevant charging standards, including but not limited to:
• ISO 15118
• DIN 70121
• Other applicable communication and charging standards
• Review software test cases against quality criteria, document found defects and tracked them to closure.
• Understanding of E/E systems, test case design, and validation concepts.
• Experience with test automation and structured test execution
• Testcase result analysis with test logs is a must
• Adjust test specifications and test cases so that defects found in reviews or analysis activities are mitigated.
• Develop and empower the test environment for designed test concepts
• Knowledge on Tools – ECU.Test, Test Guide, INCA, Control Desk.
• Hands‑on understanding on Python scripting for test automation
• Knowhow about ISO26262 concepts from validation perspective and ASPICE process understanding is beneficial
