Job summary

BMW Techworks India is seeking a software test engineer to develop and verify test cases across all levels, ensuring integration and hardware-software consistency on target hardware. You will validate safety mechanisms, analyze test results, and maintain test environments with CAN/CANoe-based tooling.

Exposure to HIL setups, automotive bus protocols, and ASPICE processes is essential, with ISTQB certification considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Develop test cases for all test levels which provide evidence that all software requirements are fulfilled in the implemented software.
• Monitor that the defined safety mechanisms are properly executed.
• Develop test cases on all SW-SW integration test level which provide evidence that on each level of integration the software is consistent with the corresponding software design.
• Develop test cases on HW-SW integration test level which provide evidence that all highest-level software requirements are fulfilled in the software deployed on the target hardware.
• Review software test cases against quality criteria, document found defects and tracked them to closure.
• Execute software verification on all test levels and document the results.
• Testcase result analysis with test logs is a must.
• Experience on CAN/LIN/Flexray and Ethernet is a must.
• Adjust test specifications and test cases so that defects found in reviews or analysis activities are mitigated.
• Develop and empower the test environment for designed test concepts
• Knowledge of ASPICE process is a must

Responsibilities

• The role is responsible for the creation, specification or verification of all internal work products, which are assigned to the role.


• Writing software test cases is in conformance with the defined coding guidelines and the allocated requirements


• Implementation of new and existing test concepts and empowerment of the test environment.

• Authority to decide on the execution sequence of tests and test cases where they are not pre-specified in the test cases or test schemes


• Authority to reject requirements which are not understandable, contradictory (in themselves or contradicting other requirements) or not testable

In addition, it would be an advantage if you also had extensive experience in the areas of technology and software for calibrating, coding, diagnosing, and using control devices, for example with Vector (CANoe) products. Furthermore, knowledge of automated software test frameworks (ECU Test, Robot) would be of great benefit.

ISTQB certification is a plus
