Job summary

SYSTRA India seeks a Transport Modeller to join the CTR – Regional Technical Centre in Ahmedabad on-site. You will develop and calibrate transport models, analyze results, and prepare technical reports while learning new techniques and software.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and 2–10 years of experience. You will work with SATURN, CUBE, VISUM, EMME and GIS, and mentor junior colleagues in a collaborative, globally-connected team.

Qualifications

• The candidate holds a Master’s degree in Transport Planning/Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• 2–10 years of relevant experience in transport modelling and analysis.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities; mentoring junior colleagues.

Context

CTR – Regional Technical Centre of Systra India takes care of the international production of major projects at Systra Group level. CTR team has expertise in design of High-Speed Rail, Metro, Conventional Rail, Bridges, Highways, Depots, Stations and Transport Planning. Starting from Feasibility/Concept stage to Detailed Design to IFC/Shop drawings, the disciplines involved have experience of designing in accordance with various international codes and delivered projects across the world.

CTR team has successfully delivered some major projects in UK, UAE, Tanzania, KSA, Australia, Canada and Denmark. One of the major achievements of India CTR team has been the design of HS2 project in UK. We played an instrumental role in delivering 3 major Sublots on HS2 with our teams proactively engaging with Front Office in UK and delivering beyond client expectations. This resulted in India team receiving many accolades from the contractor BBV and client HS2.

CTR team in India is proficient in working on multi-disciplinary projects integrating Design, BIM and Drawing production in a seamless workflow incorporating different software. The technical and management teams within CTR get an opportunity to work and interact with other CTR teams within Systra Group from Paris, Poland, Dubai, Philippines and Brazil.

Missions / Main Duties

• Development and calibration/validation of transport models
• Undertake analysis of model results
• Learn new techniques and software packages
• Preparing technical reports
• Experience in Transport Modelling Software (e.g. SATURN, CUBE, VISUM, EMME)
• Some familiarity with UK transport modelling guidance (e.g. TAG)
• Knowledge of Economic Appraisal using TUBA, COBALT, QUADRO
• Data analysis (including spreadsheets and databases) and problem-solving
• Experienced in using Python, R, Visual Basic for Applications, or similar, to aid analysis and processing of data
• Knowledgeable user of data analytics and mapping tools (GIS) and ability to interpret quantitative transport models
• Reporting of model results
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience in helping mentor more junior colleagues.

Profile / Skills

• Master’s degree level qualification or above in relevant subject (e.g., Transport Planning/Engineering or Civil Engineering)
• 2-10 years of relevant experience.
