Job summary

Vilwaa Tech Enablers in India seeks a senior transmission design engineer with 8-10 years of experience in designing transmission and axle aggregates for tractors and off-highway vehicles. You will work on gears, shafts, housings, and planetary systems to meet performance targets.

The role requires strong engineering calculations, DFMEA/DFM/ DFA knowledge, and experience with driveline testing and DAQ. Familiarity with lubrication systems and tolerance stacking is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8 to 10 years of experience in designing transmission and axle aggregates for tractors/off-highway vehicles.
• Knowledge of gears, shafts, housings, synchronizers, bevel gears, and planetary gear systems.
• Knowledge of material selection and heat treatment processes.
• Experience in fixing gear ratios for driveline based on vehicle performance.
• Strong engineering calculations and analytical skills.
• Experience with gear shifting systems on rails, forks and related parts.
• Knowledge of bearing life prediction and seals selection.
• Understanding of tractor applications and design requirements.
• Experience with tolerance stacking of transmission aggregates.
• Experience in resolving driveline issues with production/field.
• Familiarity with DFMEA/DFM/DFA.
• Knowledge in transmission lubrication systems is preferred.
• Experience with driveline/vehicle testing and DAQ is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission and axle aggregates for tractors and off-highway vehicles.
• Select gears, shafts, housings, and related components.
• Determine material selection and heat treatment requirements.

• Evaluate transmission lubrication systems.
• Experience with various driveline types (power shuttle, CVT, AMT, EV).
• Support driveline/vehicle testing and DAQ.
